Mike Smit

Director of MinistriesMike Smit was born and raised near Bozeman, Montana. He grew up in a small farming community and graduated from Manhattan Christian High School in Churchill, Montana. Mike attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa majoring in Marketing and Advertising, and spent 24 years at the Bozeman Daily Chronicle in multiple advertising positions, including Advertising Director. Mike was with the Times-News in Twin Falls as Advertising Director and Sales Consultant for seven years. Mike has served as deacon and elder in the Christian Reformed and Reformed Churches, School Board President for two Christian schools and as a DJ for a Christian radio station.

As Director of Ministries, Mike is responsible for the Recovery For Life programs, Men's & Women's Ministry Groups, Young at Heart, CARS Ministry, Hammerheads, Prayer Teams and the Library. Mike also serves in an executive role with regard to staff supervision & performance as well as strategic planning & execution.

He married Diann in 1975 and they have three grown children, Ryan, Adam and Shanna (Hamilton), and four grandchildren. Mike loves hiking, golf, bird hunting, camping, traveling, singing and playing with their grandkids.
